Women get really pissed if you come out and say that you want to meet a hot Russian bride over the internet. And why is this? Self-consciousness? Misperceptions of the industry? Feminist rhetoric/ or solidarity? Whatever the motive, it can be frustrating. Like arguing with a wall even. The truth is that Russian dating sites empower women, more so than in a mainstream dating environment. They are usually in control of the relationship, how fast it moves and when they meet. Regardless, my sister and mom both berated me for considering marrying a Russian woman that I met on a mail order bride site. As if that was such a big deal? People meet each other under worse circumstances and that doesn’t seem to be an issue. What does it matter than I got to know my future wife through chat and webcam dates. C’mon people, it’s 2012. The world isn’t small or flat. Everyone has options and can cater to their tastes at the click of a button. Get off my case!
